Diaster Relief / Recovery Handyman
The purpose of the Inwood Baptist Men is to help Christian men (and women) share the love of Jesus by praying, giving, going and becoming actively involved in missions with their time and talents. The Inwood Baptist Men are affiliated with the North Carolina Baptist Men’s (NCBM) organization where we strive to make our members aware of human needs and help provide opportunities to help meet those needs wherever they exist. That may include being involved in the NCBM disaster relief/recovery efforts, Baptist Builders, participating in a foreign or local mission project, or working in our handyman ministry.
Our vision at Inwood Baptist Men is “Every Christian sharing God’s love with hurting people through word and deed.” There are 14 different ministries of the NCBM. Inwood Baptist Church is involved in a number of these including but not restricted to: Baptist Builders, Disaster Relief, Disaster Recovery and Medical/Dental ministry.
Inwood Baptist Men in affiliation with the Raleigh Baptist Association are blessed to have a Disaster Relief kitchen also. This trailer unit has been used in a number of storm disasters including Fran, Floyd and most recently hurricane Katrina; being stationed in Gulfport Mississippi as a support kitchen. Most recently updated to include a convection oven, it is now equipped to serve as many as 10,000 hot meals per day.
We are also blessed to be equipped with a tool trailer that has many various tools and equipment to accomplish anything from building a handicap ramp; to replacing siding on a house; to roof repair after a storm. These trailers are supported by a truck used to pull these and carry other essential equipment.
Inwood Baptist Men are not only involved on Disaster Relief and Recovery. Our handy man ministry is a vital part of our organization and we are actively involved in foreign mission projects. We have helped a number of elderly and disabled residents, members and nonmembers of our church with various projects. We have also helped send a number of individuals on foreign and local mission projects. Some of these were foreign mission projects such as Puerto Rico, Honduras, and Haiti. Inwood Baptist Men actively support these with our prayers, offerings and our deeds.
We would love to have you come and join us in our endeavors. Come and join us on Sunday morning for worship and ask someone to show you a Baptist Man, or just come and join us for a night of food and fellowship at our next meeting. All are welcome. I know you will leave a changed person.
The Baptist Men’s ministry meets every second Thursday night of each month at 6:30pm. Come and join us for a meal and Christian fellowship as we discuss our next projects.
